English Ls are classified as being clear which is also referred to as being light, and there are those that went to the dark side. The L sound can be difficult to learn for some English language learners, because in English there are actually two different ways of pronouncing L sounds. Some words with a clear L are black, clean, language, leaf, like, and lose, while some words with a dark L are circle, help, full, milk, pool and pull. The distinction is made based on the position of the letter L in the word, so the Ls that are close to the beginning of the syllable are clear, while those close to the end of the syllable are dark. The L is light if it comes before the vowel or diphthong in the syllable and if it comes after the vowel or diphthong in a syllable, it is a dark L. What in the hell is that Jim Adams jabbering on about now?
Last week we had Monica and Veronica which are both girls’ names that rhyme with a harmonica and everyone was asked to find a song that featured a harmonica in it. This week we have some general words that are used to describe colors, being Clear/Dark/Light and hopefully everyone will be able to find a song that utilizes one of these prompt words in the title or in the lyrics. Take some time to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this music challenge, as you will probably find many enjoyable songs and it is quite possibly that you will learn a thing or two. Share your music with others and post a video, try do some research and let everyone know something about the song that you post. Show the lyrics, let’s all listen to our favorite songs and explore some new music. Try to find a song that fits the prompt, then write your post and create a pingback, or you can just place your link in the comments section.
Here are the “rules”:
• Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it contains the prompt words or not. If it does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.

I get annoyed because my pingbacks never seem to work on your page Him and I always have to do them manually, that’s why I am often late to the party even though I schedule them early. Anyway here, late again is my post.

I am sure that they will as when I took over this challenge back in January of 2019, no pingbacks worked. Give it a try.

I will. I always like the instant gratification of knowing it’s going to work. I like scheduling my posts and when it’s supposed to publish at 9am and I find out a 11pm it did not ping back I am so disappointed 😔 I receive pingbacks from people who share my work so it must be in the authorization settings. My pingbacks are clicked on so I wonder why you/I don’t see them. I’m not going to worry about it though.

That is fine and I have my site set so pingbacks appear without the need for my approval, that is unless for some reason they end up in my SPAM folder.

Magazine were majestic musicians. Barry Adamson’s bass hits you were it hurts.
Time flies
Time crawls
Like an insect
Up and down the walls
The light pours out of me
The light pours out of me
The conspiracy
Of silence ought
To revolutionize
My thought
The light pours out of me
The light pours out of me
The cold light of day
Pours out of me
Leaving me black
And so healthy
The light pours out of me
The light pours out of me
It jerks out of me
Like blood
In this still life
Heartbeats of love
The light pours out of me
The light pours out of me

Hi Jim
What do you have in mind for the them in September “contrasts”…are we picking two songs and comparing them for that theme? Or is it more about finding a song that contains contrasting elements within it???
LikeLiked by 1 person
Contrasts was suggested by Maggie and it should be lyrics that include stuff like black and white, loud vs. silent, wet vs. dry, or hot vs. cold, thus your lyrics or title should contain things that contrast with each other. Thanks for your question Mel and this is very different and I hope it works out.

Fine you are welcome. Please don’t be so lazy next time by providing a link to the lyrics, as everyone else puts them in the post. It would be nice if you could also write something about the song and or the group. I don’t know this group or this song, but I really like the blues.
