Prayer usually begins with a vocal incantation, and then it often moves on to a more structured form of meditation, ultimately reaching multiple layers of contemplative thoughts. Prayer means a lot of different things to a lot of people and it may embody the meaning of life to some that desire to commune with their creator. Prayer could lead us to a special place, by guiding us with God’s grace, so we can feel safe. Prayer can offer us peace, guidance and kindness, making it a spiritual way of saying watch over us where ever we go and help us to be better. People derive hope from prayer and in today’s world it is often a good thing. People ask God to help them when tasks become difficult and they hope that God can lead them to the light a place where they will be free of harm. People look to God for direction in this dark world which can often be confusing. People ask God to stop the violence that they see all around them, to help them bear the pain and suffering that they are experiencing in this world. They ask God to let everyone love each other, so that we can all co- exist peacefully together.
I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know
Let this be our prayer when we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we’ll be safe
La luce che tu dai (the light that you give)
I pray we’ll find your light
Nel cuore resterà (In my heart it will remain)
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che (To remind us that)
When stars go out each night
L’eterna stella sei (You are the eternal star)
Nella mia preghiera (In my prayers)
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c’è (How much faith there is)
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
Sognamo un mondo senza più violenza (We dream of a world with no more violence)
Un mondo di giustizia e di Speranza (A world of justice and hope)
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino (Everyone lends a hand to their neighbor)
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità (A symbol of peace and fraternity)
La forza che ci dia (The strength you give us)
We ask that life be kind
È il desiderio che (And the desire that)
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amor (Everyone will find love)
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a sè (Around and inside themselves)
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child
Need to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
E la fede che (And the faith that)
Hai acceso in noi (You have ignited within us)
Sento che ci salverai (I feel that it will save all of us)
Written for Reena’s Exploration Challenge #182 – Layers.
A beautiful song Jim. I had this by Ryandan, identical twins Ryan and Dan Kowarsky from Canada.
Sadly I’ve been unable to replace my copy of their album of the same name.

I listened to that version and it is lovely.

Their whole album is brilliant and I’m annoyed that it got sent to charity by mistake when we bought the boat.

I don’t pray much, but my sister prays all the time.

Beautiful music! Prayer can bring such comfort in times of bereavement and grief; solace when one is feeling hopeless and so much more. It is a highly personal and individual pursuit though, and you’ve expressed your thoughts magnificently!
