American educator, author, businessman, and keynote speaker Stephen Covey said, “Always surround yourself with people who are even more talented and competent than you.” Tricia Newbold, a manager in the Personnel Security Office of the White House, accused the office of rampant mismanagement of the security clearances of at least 25 employees. Ms. Newbold told the committee that at least two senior administration officials had been granted security clearances, which gave them access to classified information, despite possible disqualifying issues. She also told the committee that she had compiled a list of at least 25 individuals, including contractors and senior advisers, who had a “wide range” of disqualifying information, including drug use, financial problems and criminal conduct. Apparently Trump cares more about people who he thinks will be loyal to him, than those who have the competency to do the job.

Groan! Sensitive subject for me. If I had done what so many of these people do these days, I would have been cell mates with Manafort and probably doing more time. It is not only corruption. We are talking Top Secret stuff that is so-labeled because its disclosure can lead to significant harm to the USA. I fear it will.

This is awful and it is a good thing that Tricia Newbold spoke about this issue.

Colbert is brilliant here. I will tell you why they are letting these slimebuckets get clearance, and this is no joke: later when it comes time for blaming, they’ll have a slew to blame. This, Jim, is part of how government has gotten so rotten. And suspending this woman for telling the truth for something that piddly is also part of how they do business. All topsy turvy. The soulless rule and the ones with integrity are kept in their place.

Things have really gone downhill since Trump took office and if he ends up getting reelected it will kill our great country.

“Stock the swamp!” Oh wait, Trump’s slogan was “drain the swamp!” He must have forgotten the “oranges” of that slogan.

Hard to figure exactly where and when our country has gone so wrong. I deleted a comment on this post earlier that had a Republican point of view praising Trump and saying that people should not hate their president. This is the first time I ever did that, but I have no respect for this man.
