Story Cube 01

I just found out that my grandmother died, she went over the rainbow and I need to get a ticket for an airplane so I can make it to her funeral.  Her name is Susan and she always liked the Black-Eyed Susan flower, so I should order some of them for her.  I just bought a new book “A Long Walk to Water”, so I will take that with me to read on the plane.  Her health declined after she fell off my bicycle while trying to ride it and then she needed to use a cane to get around after that.  Grandma was staying in a nursing home and they suspect poison may have caused her death after she unknowingly drank an industrial cleaner which she thought was cranberry juice.  I never got to tell her that the 23andMe Ancestry DNA test that I just took showed that our family dates back to the Pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower and I am sure she would have enjoyed knowing that.  I am not looking forward to this trip, as my family is not close with each other and sometimes I feel like a pawn being manipulated into doing things that I don’t want to do, but I can’t seem to resist.  Look at the time on the clock, I guess I better get going.

Written for Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Saturday Mix Lucky Dip hosted by weejars aka Sarah where she has asked us to use the story cube shown above to write something.  In the cube, I see a flower, book, clock, pawn (weakest piece in the game of chess), rainbow, poison, airplane, DNA strand and a cane.
