1.Do you have any family traditions?
My family had many traditions, and most were centered around holidays. For Christmas, my parents would always wrap gag gifts for myself, my brother and sister to open and they would laugh when I opened new socks or new underwear when I was expecting it to be a present. For Easter my mom would color eggs and they would hide them for us to find when we woke up. For Thanksgiving one of us kids were always allowed to name the turkey. I don’t have a family, but I keep up a tradition that my dad started. He always made sure that my mom made spaghetti for the first Sunday of football season and I still make sure to do that.
2. With December on its way, have you ever been carol singing?
Nobody in their right mind would ever want to hear me sing.
3. Do you decorate your home for the Christmas holidays?
I got a lighted palm tree that I can put presents under, and I hang a wreath on the front door.
4. Do you enjoy the Christmas rush for preparations and shopping?
I only enjoy it when it is over.

Thanks for joining in Jim. Our £10 dash is usually silly gifts, and when we were buying gifts for people, if they had kids, we’d spend more on them and a gag gift for less than a pound for the parents. That was always a lot of fun. I bought my sister a frog in a tin that said ‘ribbit’ when you opened it, and another year, got her a set of rubber ducks for the bathroom. I got a kids post office set (paper, envelopes, pencils and fake postage stamps) Fun times.

I agree with you that the gag gifts are fun, but a kid is always upset when they are expecting a present.

True, which is why we spent more on the kids and next to nothing on the adults.

It is the only Adams family tradition that I still keep, and football season would not be the same without it.

That’s good. Do your siblings have it too?

Do you decorate your home for the Christmas holidays? – I do, but I don’t go overboard like my neighbour’s. I always wonder how much their electric bill would come too after Christmas!

Some people do go all out.

Good answers. I knew people put up a tree inside their homes but hanging a wreath on the front door is a new for me.

The wreath is supposed to be an invitation to the spirit of Christmas to enter the home and bring luck.
