Inner Voice

I turn negative thoughts into positive ones by working things out inside of my head.  I am in control of all of my faculties while I am involved in an internal monologue, and I figure that this skill came from having an imaginary friend when I was younger.  I called him Black Peter and I would tell him what to do and I also listened to what he had to say.  These frequent conversations helped me to complete tasks, which in turn reduced stress.  It is important to get along with yourself, or else you will never be able to develop a healthy relationship with anyone else.  Everyone should check in with their inner self on a routine basis to ensure that they are happy.  It only takes a few moments to establish a relationship with yourself and this could help you from feeling lonely and lead to a fulfilling life.  If you can improve your awareness of what you need, this could go a long way to help you meeting your goals and realizing your dreams.

I have a pretty simple life, but I do get stressed out sometimes and usually this comes from knowing that I have things to do that are not being done.  I don’t have to pay taxes because of my financial situation, but I do have to file, and I don’t enjoy doing that.  It is not very difficult to figure out and there is still plenty of time left, but just knowing that I have to do something that I don’t enjoy can cause me stress.  As part of my rent agreement, I have to scoop the litter out of 4 cat boxes every day, something that I am certain that nobody enjoys doing, but it has to be done and that voice in my head tells me to get my lazy ass moving and get it done.  Once the job is done the stress is gone at least till tomorrow comes around, but then again tomorrow may find me cold beneath the ground.

  1. Bravo! I agree with everything you said… including your tendency to procrastinate. I often tell people that I put the “pro” in procrastinate. LOL
I’m just too busy having fun to do tedious things.

      1. I’ve had so much sucess doing things ‘last minute’ that procrastination doesn’t usually stress me too much. Maybe I’ll get a reality check that will change that behavior, but I wouldn’t bet on it. LOL

  2. Do you recall why you called your friend Black Peter? I honestly never understood about imaginary friends. I don’t know why.
Have you considered in investing in The Automatic Crystal Litter Scooping litter box? It is in a purple box. You have a cartridge of crystal litter that goes under the “machine”. It scoops the poop when the cat gets out. Crystal litter doesn’t smell like clay litter. When we had ours one cartridge would last for a month with one cat. The cartridge was $20 or so but I didn’t have to do anything except change that once a month, well worth the money. When the box starts not looking fresh you lift the “machine” part up and change the cartridge. Put the lid on the dirty one and throw the whole thing out. I know, everyone I tell this to says they don’t want to spend the money or they are fine with what they have, but the difference is truly amazing. With 4 cats you could have one litter box and change the cartridge once a week. The whole system is about $149 but then like I said the cartridges are about $20 and depending on the kind of litter you use, this is actually a more economical approach.

    1. My imaginary friend’s name was Ghosty and the Black Peter part was made up so I could use that song at the end. The cats belong to my cousin and her boyfriend, and I did ask about the automatic litter cleaning boxes, but they said that they need special litter which is expensive, and it is easier to just pay me to do it.

      1. Well, can’t change anyone’s mind on the cat litter thing, even though I did the comparison.
As far as Ghosty was concerned, did you see him or just think he was there? I’m not trying to be sarcastic, like I said I really don’t understand it.

      2. I liked playing the game Monopoly and when my brother and my sister got tired of playing it with me, I made up Ghosty, so I could have someone to play with. I could not see Ghosty, because he was imaginary and I knew that he was not there, but I would talk to him. I had to roll the dice for him and when he landed on something, I had to ask him what he wanted to do. I never lost a game of Monopoly that I played against Ghosty, so I guess he was either really bad at making decisions, or else I was cheating him.

      3. Lindsay used to play school with her stuffed animals. She would make them do math problems and then correct them. She was good at math so they always got the answers correct! I talked to my stuffed animals when I was younger…I guess it is sort of the same thing.
