Something Meaningful

My blog might seem insignificant to many people, but without it, I wouldn’t have anything meaningful going on in my life.  I am hoping that this is a passing phase and that my life will change for the better, but I don’t see that happening any time soon.  It is possible that I could hit it big in the lottery, but that is also very unlikely, so my blog helps to get me through the day.  It is a good thing, as it keeps me out of trouble, it keeps my mind active and I have several virtual friends that I communicate with.  I guess it could be described as being an inexpensive hobby that I take part in every day.  I am a paid member of WordPress and I rarely skip a day of writing, thanks to all of the wonderful challenges that other bloggers host.

  1. I very much enjoy your blog. Being part of a blogging community is a great thing. Most of my real flesh and blood friends have died, and the memories I have of them are limited and dated. My blogger friends, however, potentially live on forever. I like to think that my blog possible could just bounce around forever, and is available to anybody that wants to read what I write…or not…no obligation. It’s there for whomever and whenever….any Martians yet? Just say “dlfihspa” when ya get here. 🙂

My bloggers are like my sonsinlaw…in that once in My family they never get out…that goes for extended families. I have more sons-in-law than daughters and ditto granddaughters…a friend of theirs is potentially a friend of mine…pain in the ass that I am.

  2. I am sorry that a little joy from this season hasn’t bitten you (yet). But I ‘get’ it. I too have a fairly empty existence, it’s not quality by any stretch, and the people I’ve met here make me happy to get out of bed. Otherwise it truly would be a case of “Why bother?” Thanks for being my virtual friend Jim! Rock on!

    1. I didn’t intend this post to be a complaint, as it is just a statement that blogging gives meaning to my life. It is a hobby that is much more fun than collecting stamps, coins or baseball cards. Thanks for telling Glyn about my blog as he always leaves interesting comments. I am very happy to be your virtual friend Melanie.

  3. Jim, your blog may seem insignificant in the macro sense of the entire blogosphere, but to those of us here on WordPress who follow your daily words, bits of wisdom and wit, your blog adds meaning to our lives. I selfishly am glad that you don’t have much else going on in your life at the moment because I so look forward to reading your posts.

    1. Thanks for your kind words Fandango and I was thinking about making a post about the 5 bloggers that you would like to meet in person and you were on the top of my list. Maybe I could suggest that topic to Dr. Tanya for her 5 Things Tuesday post, as I think it would be fun.

  4. It’s never insignificant when it brings you joy being here. I feel that way at times too. I look forward to posting and reading comments. I love the interaction because I am not a physically social person. I avoid people really. Always do you. Thanks for being here!
