Physics is Messed Up

Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building (yeah it’s a retread.  But there are new participants to SYW too who probably never answered it)
A headless horseman, a voodoo doll, a corpse, a ghost, a witch, a vampire, a werewolf, or any kind of monster.

Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?
I am satisfied with the three dimensions that I live in, but people that try to explain String Theory, which seems to be the best explanation of how the universe fits together say that 10 dimensions exist and M-Theory requires 11 dimensions.  String theory is one of the proposed methods for producing a theory of everything, a model that describes all known particles and forces and that would supersede the Standard Model of physics, which can explain everything except gravity, but string theory can never be proved, even if it stands up to the test of time.  The more I read about this, the more confused I become and it seems like strings need to attach to p-branes in order to provide a connection between closed and open string theories and all of this makes me feel like a pea brain.

Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?
Yes, if I was planning to commit suicide.

What is the most frightening book you’ve ever read?
I am not into horror and I stopped watching movies that make me jump because of some cheap scare that they threw into the scene.

BONUS QUESTION (just for silliness’ sake!) If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), which would you pick out of the five choices?
I have a black cat although it could more accurately be described as a tuxedo cat, as it has white paws and some white on his neck.

GRATITUDE SECTION (As always, optional) What are you grateful for?
My new Fitbit watch came last week and although I have not used it yet, I plan to go out for some walks soon as my doctor wants me to walk a mile every day.

  1. Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building – I wouldn’t want to run into a brick wall (I’ve actually done that in an old abandoned building before!)

  2. Thanks, Jim, for Sharing Your World! That whole physics thing is a giant step above my brain level. I find it interesting in so far that I can understand it, but that ain’t far. Good on you for trying and for sharing information! 🙂 Your cat sounds beautiful and would qualify as a (mostly) black cat I think! 🐱‍👤 Good luck with your fit bit and your resolve to walk more. Sadje can provide an excellent example of how beneficial walking is. Another benefit is the very true saying ‘if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it” as I’m living proof of. But I suppose I can blame my ancestors a bit for sending along bad genes, right? 😉 Have a great week!
