Disturbing

I know what you did last summer, when you buried that body deep into the woods and you thought that nobody was looking.  Don’t worry as that dirtbag deserved it and you have nothing to fear from me.  I am not going to call the police, so you are not in danger of being arrested.  That man was a nightmare for me and now that he is gone, all of my horror and terror has disappeared.  I decided to bake you a cake for helping me out and I got the recipe from Carmel’s Great Bake Off.

Last week we had Roll the Dice, with the theme words being Fate, Fortune, Luck.  Our theme this week is Danger, Fear, Horror, Nightmare, Terror and I hope the music is not too scary this week.  Take some time to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this music challenge, and even better, read as many of them as you are able to as you will probably find many enjoyable songs and it is quite possibly that you will learn a thing or two.  Share your music with others and post a video, try do some research and let everyone know something about the song that you post.  Tell everyone why you like the song, whether it was a hit, or what you think the song is about.  Show the lyrics, let’s all listen to our favorite songs and explore some new music.  Try to find a song that fits the theme, then write your post and create a pingback, or you can just place your link in the comments section.

Here are the “rules”:
• Try to use the prompt words or at least conform to a general theme, as you see it.  If the song you select does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• It would be good if you could post the lyrics to the song of your choice, as this is helpful for the people that want to follow along with the music.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due. It would also be a good idea to give credit to the singer and the band associated with your song.
• Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be, but please try not to include too many videos as that just makes it take longer to look at all of the other posts.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.

    1. Do you mean you don’t understand how to take part Trish? Or the purpose of it?

I thought Jim’s instructions were fairly straightforward, but if you click the pingbacks and visit the posts from the bloggers taking part, I am sure you will get the general idea. Jim picks a theme, we pick a song that has one of the words in his them in either the title or the lyrics. We create a post to explain our song choice, and feature the lyrics and a video link to the track if there is one. Then we all tend to have a listen to each other’s choices.

Why do we do it? I would rather assume that is all because we all enjoy music and by listening to the choices from others we discover music we may not have heard before. It think it is rather fun. A lot of the participants take part each week because they enjoy it so much. But there are often f new participants. It’s a little like an online music club that is open to anyone who enjoys music.

  2. This has always been a big crowd-pleaser in the set for Iron Maiden fans. They can sing their hearts out.

I am a man who walks alone
And when I’m walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park
When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it’s dark

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something’s always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone’s always there

Have you run your fingers down the wall
And have you felt your neck skin crawl
When you’re searching for the light?
Sometimes when you’re scared to take a look
At the corner of the room
You’ve sensed that something’s watching you

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something’s always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone’s always there

Have you ever been alone at night
    Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no one’s there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you’re sure there’s someone there

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something’s always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone’s always there

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark

Watching horror films the night before
    Debating witches and folklores
The unknown troubles on your mind
Maybe your mind is playing tricks
You sense, and suddenly eyes fix
    On dancing shadows from behind

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something’s always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone’s always there

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something’s always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone’s always there

When I’m walking a dark road
I am a man who walks alone
