What do you think of the idea of the ‘greater good’ principle?
I like it and I think that as long as people live together, the greater good should be considered. The US is a Capitalist society, where people take advantage of others, so they can accumulate wealth, and I am not against that, but some times things go too far. I don’t feel sorry for the oil companies, as they have made enough money and while ruining the environment and for the greater good of everyone who lives on this planet, we need to switch to a cleaner form of energy.
Do you enjoy riding a roller coaster or other amusement park type ride?
I used to, but now I can have just as much fun stating on the ground and watching the younger ones getting their thrills.
Which musical instrument is the most annoying to you personally?
Bagpipes and accordions both annoy me, but if I had to pick just one, I will choose bagpipes, because the sound they make is far from being music.
Would you rather have a vivid imagination or a photographic memory if you had to choose just one?
I am going to choose a vivid imagination, because if I had a photographic memory, then I would not be able to forget certain things. I know a guy with a photographic memory and I watched Jeopardy with him and I watched him rattle off answers to obscure categories, which most people would not have any idea about. This guy said that he even remembers being inside of his mother’s womb, and that is a thought that I don’t ever want to have.
Gratitude section about my fun plans
I have two events on my calendar, a trip to the dentist for to get my teeth cleaned and a visit to my foot doctor to have my toenails trimmed and neither of these is what I would call fun. I finished putting together the community newsletter and I need to take that to the printer and then hand it out to the distributers. When I bought my car last summer, it came with only one set of keys and I am going to the Chevy dealer to get a new key with the fob and that will cost me $75, not all that exciting.

Thank you for Sharing Your World Jim! None of your summer ‘activities’ sound very fun and I feel ya for that whole key thing. I need to do that too as one of my set of keys got thrown out accidentally, and now I only have one key to start my car. I don’t lose them as I used to in the past, but it’s still not a very good idea to have just one, is it? Too bad the dealerships put such a price tag on things, but that’s sadly the reality of life in this segment of history. I found your answer to question #1 very interesting. There are good reasons that ‘the greater good’ should apply, but to me, that’s where the striking lack of common sense of those who can make those kind of decisions comes through. It seems these days that self-serving is more the motivation, instead of what will benefit the most people. We’ve gone to an entitled society and I think that’s disastrous. Have a wonderful week!

I am not saying that the idea of the greater good is working, but I think the concept is good. I dropped my keys in my trunk the other day and then closed my trunk after putting my groceries in, I have AAA so it didn’t cost me anything to have a service person come by and open up my car for me, except the waiting time. I had to wait about two hours, but I enjoyed my time talking to strangers, especially the ones who asked me how my day was going and I would tell them that they really didn’t want to know.

That is a quandary then. I amuse myself by going out by myself when others are busy with work. And when theaters were open, I’d go and watch a movie alone too.

There is nothing musical about bagpipes.

Your idea of Greater Good sounds good. With you on vivid imagination. Good news: You get a good deal on keys. I get ripped off. They can see the words “I am a sucker” on a my forehead when I approach.
