A Decent Man

After High School, but before College, I had a job working on a packaging line.  It was third shift where you go in at Midnight and work till 8 AM.  I was in the break room and I spotted the guy who was working on the line next to mine and since he looked like a decent guy, I asked him how long has he been working here.  He told me ever since he got out of prison.  I asked him why he went to prison and he said, “Murder”.  I never spoke another word to him.

    1. Initially I thought he might be a nice guy to talk with at the job, because I didn’t know a single person there, but this graveyard shift brings out the strangest people and I learned that it was better to keep to myself.
