Walk of Life

The word burnout will always make me think about Tommy Chong from Cheech and Chong the comedians that smoked a lot of pot and were considered to be dirty wastoid hippie stoners, but they always made me laugh.  Being burned out means feeling empty and mentally exhausted, devoid of motivation, and beyond caring.  People experiencing burnout often don’t see any hope of positive change in their situations.  This is a very bad situation and it is difficult when people find themselves in dire straits.

Stress can lead to burnout and cause emotional exhaustion, as your brain and body can only handle so much before you become overwhelmed, but you can’t just give up on life.  If you are in a crisis, you must help yourself, show some perseverance, keep moving forward, find your happiness, and try to adapt to the curve balls that life throws at you.  Burnout is not insurmountable, it is simply a sign that something in your life needs fixing.  Find a happy song that can get you through your day and do the walk of life.

Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
“Be-Bop-A-Lula,” “Baby What I Say”
Here comes Johnny singing, “I Gotta Woman”
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay

He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day

He do the song about the sweet lovin’ woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, do the walk of life
Yeah, he do the walk of life

Here comes Johnny, gonna tell you the story
Hand me down my walkin’ shoes
Here comes Johnny with the power and the glory
Backbeat the talkin’ blues

He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day

The song about the sweet lovin’ woman
He do the song about the knife
Then he do the walk, he do the walk of life
Yeah, he do the walk of life

Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
“Be-Bop-A-Lula,” “Baby What I Say”
Here comes Johnny singing, “I Gotta Woman”
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay

He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day

And after all the violence and double talk
There’s just a song in all the trouble and the strife
You do the walk, yeah, you do the walk of life
Hmm, you do the walk of life
