The Illusion

She looks out at the sky above and wonders if this is her real life, or could this all be a fantasy?  She has places to go and things to do, but she likes to take deep breaths and ponder the mysteries of the universe.  She doubts that her life will ever become significant, she is just here to be happy and she decided that her purpose is to make others happy along the way.  She would like to be remembered as a good person and she will continue trying to make the world a better place for everyone to live in as soon as she figures out how to accomplish that,

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day’s useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one.
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son.
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion.

  1. I think this is best what most people can do, try to be happy themselves and make others happy too, along the way. Thanks Jim for joining in with this lovely story. The song is so apt.

    1. Sadje the first thing I saw was this girl who looked like she was in a meditative state and that made me curious about what was on her mind. But then I saw the sky and it seemed so distant from the girl, but at the same time I appreciated its splendidness. I have never done meditation, but I read it has something to do with controlling your breathing. I put the breathing together with the sky and I came up with Moody Blues, well at least that makes sense to me. Thanks for your interesting prompt today Sadje.

      1. I appreciate how you’ve explained your train of thoughts. What I really love about this challenge is that we all see things a bit different from the others. Thanks Jim for your participation.
