I am late and now I have to run around like that rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, as I set my alarm for 9 AM, but I forgot to activate it.  I slept great and now it is 22 or 23 to 12 and I should have gotten up 2 and a half hours ago.  I have to be at the casino at 1 PM for the high stakes Baccarat tournament, as I have been appointed to the main gambling table to assist in the conduct of the game, and ensure the proper distribution of bets and payouts and make sure that nobody tampers with the shoe.  I will have to hop in the shower and hopefully I can grab a bite to eat when I get to the cassino.

Baccarat is the most glamorous of all casino games, and may times you will see men in tuxedos, and attractive women in evening gowns standing around and that might be because James Bond played Baccarat in the first novel Casino Royale.  However, in the 21st James Bond film Casino Royale which came out in 2006, the game of Baccarat was replaced with a no-limit Texas Hold’em poker game.  The secret agent 007 actually plays Baccarat Chemin de Fer which is found mostly in European casinos where the role of a Banker is passed around, and he [lays this in the movies Dr. No, ThunderballOn Her Majesty’s Secret Service and in GoldenEye.  This game lures people in, because it requires no skill, so this is a game of pure luck, as luck flows into the shoe.  Baccarat is played for very high stakes, as many baccarat tables have higher limits than the other table games do.  In my casino, they play with real cash, and $100-bills are spread all around everywhere.

I am not allowed to drink while I am at the tables, because players have the potential to win serious money at the casino’s expense if I make a mistake, but I get around that by having a hot toddy with my tea.  This is the easiest way to get my alcohol fix and I can incorporate it in a tasteful tea.  I certainly need some of the hair of the dog that bit me last night and caused me to oversleep my designated wake up time.  You have to love these fancy tea cups that they use in this classy casino.  I take mine with an ounce of bourbon, a tablespoon of honey, a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, and sometimes I have them add a cinnamon stick.
