How supportive are your family (or friends) of your blog?
I am like the Rodney Dangerfield of bloggers, as I don’t get any respect. No that is wrong, as there are some bloggers that regularly read my posts, but that was fun to write. I think that my writing is far superior to most bloggers and I see people write crap and they get about 50 Likes on their posts, where I struggle to get 10. Anyway, to answer the question, since I don’t have any friends and I don’t really talk with my family, I don’t get any support, but I am not expecting any.
Do they do anything to help with your blogging efforts?
My writing is a solo effort, just like my sex life.
Do they read your work and offer a critique, if so, how do you react to it?
Nobody is interested in genius and telling myself that keeps me writing every day.
Written for Blogging Insights #58 by Dr. Tanya where this week she is concerned with the support that we get from family and friends on our blogs.
Jim I think you are selling yourself on no friends. I realize social media friends get defined different but I like to consider you a friend on this platform. Your range of daily writing topics is impressive. I feel blessed and I think others do also to have found Song Lyric Sunday thru a social media friendship with you.

I was not counting virtual friends and I do consider you to be one, but I have no plan to ever meet you or any other of my virtual friends.

That’s a big disappointment Jim. I was planning on a get together so you could convince me to become a Deadhead!

I think that you have already become a Deadhead Peter.

So my parents would kill me if they knew I was publishing erotica!
But I have two friends who are also blogging so, they definitely give me support.
It’s been kinda fun to share with each other.

It is good to have friends, but as I got old, all of mine were displaced.

Was I sharing too much there?

No. I though it was hilarious.

If I waited for family to comment it would be the longest wait.

I am not complaining, I was just answering questions.

My husband and nephew are aware that I have set up a blog and I mention them frequently.
Melody told me when she encouraged me to start to never worry the number of likes or compare my work to others.

I never write about my family and it sounds like you got some good advice from Mel.

I’ve found it’s best to always open your own post(s)

I’ve been blogging for years and every time I tell someone about my blog they seemed surprised that I’d have one. I had a pretty big following for one of my blogs but restarting seems to be very humbling so far.
