Roger’s Magical, Mystical Questions:
- Many local regions, especially rural areas where I live, have haunted houses. Have you ever spent the night in a house that was supposedly haunted? Anything ‘strange” happen?
I never spent the night in a haunted house, but the other day I saw my blanket that I keep on my bed had fallen on the floor, so I picked it up and it started moving. One of the cats had gotten tangled up in it and it freaked me out not knowing that she was balled up inside of it.
- The Quidditch Cup (riding broomsticks while chasing a small ball) was a huge sporting event in the land of Hogwarts. What is the largest sporting event (or concert, etc.) that you have ever attended?
I went to the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen in 1973 and the crowd was estimated to be 600,000 people there.
- When you go for a swim, do you prefer an ocean, the seaside lakes, or a pool?
No lakes for me as the bottom is always slimy, unless they have a sandy beach which few have. I have not been to the beach in a while but there is a built in swimming pool in my back yard which I enjoy.
- Ron Weasley received a horrid robe to wear as formal wear to the Christmas dance at Hogwarts. Tell about the most ‘ghastly’ fashion statement that you have ever made.
I wore a string of love beads around my neck in 1970 to go with my bell bottom pants, and although I never had one of those awful nehru shirts, I did have some paisley ones.
Muggle Questions (from Melanie):
What is the last song you sang along to?
The other day I started singing the Bob Dylan song ‘New Morning’ because I woke up to the Sun shining through my window.
What was your scariest nightmare about?
When I was young, I used to have nightmares and the worst ones happened when I was sick with a fever. I don’t remember what they were about and all I can recall was the sirens blaring, which scarred me as I thought they were coming to take me away.
What food do you crave most often?
Cake, let me eat cake!
What’s your grossest bug story?
When I worked in Brazil the guys liked to go to this restaurant that was right across the street, but I hated that place because it had so many flies there. They always said that this was nothing and that I should have been in Venezuela with them as there they had many more flies. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I see flies landing on my food, I immediately lose my appetite.
