Oversharing Again

Roger’s Magical, Mystical Questions:

  1. Many local regions, especially rural areas where I live, have haunted houses. Have you ever spent the night in a house that was supposedly haunted? Anything ‘strange” happen?

I never spent the night in a haunted house, but the other day I saw my blanket that I keep on my bed had fallen on the floor, so I picked it up and it started moving.  One of the cats had gotten tangled up in it and it freaked me out not knowing that she was balled up inside of it.

  1. The Quidditch Cup (riding broomsticks while chasing a small ball) was a huge sporting event in the land of Hogwarts. What is the largest sporting event (or concert, etc.) that you have ever attended?

I went to the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen in 1973 and the crowd was estimated to be 600,000 people there.

  1. When you go for a swim, do you prefer an ocean, the seaside lakes, or a pool?

No lakes for me as the bottom is always slimy, unless they have a sandy beach which few have.  I have not been to the beach in a while but there is a built in swimming pool in my back yard which I enjoy.

  1. Ron Weasley received a horrid robe to wear as formal wear to the Christmas dance at Hogwarts. Tell about the most ‘ghastly’ fashion statement that you have ever made.

I wore a string of love beads around my neck in 1970 to go with my bell bottom pants, and although I never had one of those awful nehru shirts, I did have some paisley ones.

Muggle Questions (from Melanie):

What is the last song you sang along to?

The other day I started singing the Bob Dylan song ‘New Morning’ because I woke up to the Sun shining through my window.

What was your scariest nightmare about?

When I was young, I used to have nightmares and the worst ones happened when I was sick with a fever.  I don’t remember what they were about and all I can recall was the sirens blaring, which scarred me as I thought they were coming to take me away.

What food do you crave most often?

Cake, let me eat cake!

What’s your grossest bug story?

When I worked in Brazil the guys liked to go to this restaurant that was right across the street, but I hated that place because it had so many flies there.  They always said that this was nothing and that I should have been in Venezuela with them as there they had many more flies.  I don’t know about anyone else, but when I see flies landing on my food, I immediately lose my appetite.

  1. Thanks Jim for Sharing Your World. No oversharing occurred that I saw. 😉 600,000 is about 599,999 too many people, but what an event to have witnessed! Very cool! That song (“They’re Coming to Take Me Away Ha ha!”) has to be one of the all time ear worms. I heard it on the radio the other day oddly enough. Your kitty gave you a fright then? I had a very realistic dream once, and woke up on the floor, tangled in my covers. I was out of breath from struggling to get away too…freaky. Dreams can be very very disconcerting!

    1. No I did not overshare, but I liked the title. Watkins Glen was a great concert and I have written about that before. That song is annoying, but so were those sirens in my dream which was not really scary, but I was always happy when I woke up. Two of the cats like sleeping on my bed, even though I have two cat beds in my room and there are many others around the house and they have that big cat tree to climb up in. Thanks for the great prompts Melanie.

  2. I really hate flies to land on me or my food – they are so nasty!
That’s funny about the kitty. Ours used to love getting into the blankets, too.
Well, I did have a Nehru shirts, plus bell bottom jeans and love beads. hee hee 🙂
