Protest March Scheduled

Clermont is bracing for two separate demonstrations which are planned for today, Wednesday at 3 PM, and both are scheduled to protest the killing of George Floyd by a police officer in Minneapolis on May 25.  People are being encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, to bring water and signs, and personal protective equipment including face masks.

    1. “Say his name: George Floyd!” the crowds chanted. Signs included: “No justice, no peace,” “Support is Violence,” “Black Lives Matter,” “This is for the Groveland Four,” “White people listen,” “No to racism, no to violence, yes to change,” and “I can’t breathe.” Rain started just before both protests began, but it didn’t deter either demonstration.

      1. I’m glad it stayed peaceful… It didn’t in Nashville. I think some agitators just joined them here and caused all kinds of trouble.
