Oh My

It is coming and there ain’t nothing that you can do about it.  WordPress is ramming the new Block Editor on us and all we can do is bend over and take it.
From WordPress, “On June 1 we’ll be retiring our older WordPress.com editor and transitioning to the more recent (and more powerful) WordPress block editor.”

  1. Okay, I’ve been caught before by your realistic yet fictional writing…is that business of the block editor thing true? ‘Cos my renewal date rolls ’round in June. IF they really are cramming something unwanted down their customer’s throats, well…we’ll have to see. What is wrong with having both? Maybe someone more tech savvy than I can explain why it’s such a problem. O_o If your short piece was fictional, well good one, sir! You fooled me (again) 😆

  2. I saw this, and also that the Classic Editor (which I use) isn’t going anywhere. This is the “improved” editor they tried pushing out probably as they were working on the disaster known as Gutenberg. I left a comment expressing my displeasure with Gutenberg, and they deleted it, the bastards…

    1. I read that the WordPress team will keep supporting the Classic Editor plugin until the end of 2021. But, starting in 2022, the new Block Editor will be the only editor officially supported by WordPress.

      1. Wouldn’t surprise me. I heard that it might stay around past that, provided that someone starts supporting it. Don’t look at me…. wonder if you can post to WordPress through Bloglovin?

  3. I do not like the block editor. When I started my baseball site it defaulted to that…took me a while but I finally was using it…I didn’t like it and switched back to classic. I’m glad they are keeping it for now.

  4. I mistakenly used the block on a couple posts I wrote in draft on my laptop rather than my phone. They looked okay, but when I needed to edit them later, I couldn’t! It was impossible for me to understand how to deal with them. The format was like a slippery Excel table. I ended up deleting the posts.

I can always return to Blogger, but except for this issue I really prefer WP.

  5. Excellent write-up, I have always enjoyed your articles, you’re such a wonderful writer, always on point. This article is loaded to the hilt, I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading it and at the same time I was hugely enlightened. I will keep developing my writing skills so that one day I will be at your level. Thanks
