The World Was Moving

“It’ll be here before we know it.”  “What the hell are you talking about?”, asked Joe’s wife.  “The masks that I ordered from Amazon silly, then we can go out again and be protected, as the world will start moving again”, said Joe.  Judy said, “Oh yes, I remember, but didn’t you order them over a month ago, I guess the company must have been inundated with orders coming in.  These are the ones with that ergonomic design, a tight fit, and supposedly can filter out almost 90% of particulate pollution and viruses when used, making them about 20 times more effective than traditional cloth masks.”  Joe replied, “I ordered both of us a five-pack of reusable masks and these should work out much better than those thick weave cotton masks that were making you twitch.”

Judy said, “What about that designer mask that came with Galaxy girl on it, did you order one of those for me also, like I asked you to?”  “I didn’t see the point in that, as they did not have the stretchable ear loop, so they would not provide you the comfort you want when you were wearing them”, Joe replied.  Judy said, “You are probably right, as I have very sensitive ear lobes, but there is one more thing that I do need.  My face seems to be drying out and I need that Overtime exfoliating mask that has natural fruit enzymes including pumpkin and apricot seed along with the Bewitch mask that delivers firming, anti-wrinkle and has nourishing properties.”  Judy started taking off her dress and she was moving very slowly.  The world was moving, she was proud about it, she had no doubt about it, about what she’s done and no time to think about what to tell him. Judy knew that she was pregnant, but she was not sure how Joe would take the news.

  1. ah, masks. My wife (a nurse) laughs every time she sees it on tv. As far as she is concerned, a mask is a single event thing. You put it on to do something, do the thing, then throw the mask away. Just like gloves. So when she hears that people have “a mask”, or even “a mask per day”, she laughs. We went to the shop last week and saw 2 guys – their masks covered their mouths but not their noses. People, eh?

  2. I don’t have one either. I don’t go anywhere. The 2 times I’ve been out for groceries (curbside once and inside farm store once) I used a winter scarf to tie across my face. It worked fine.
