Reach for the Stars

Bend and stretch, reach for the stars.  There goes Jupiter, here comes Mars.  Bend and stretch, reach for the sky, stand on tip-e-toes, oh so high!  Stretching your body helps you to become more limber and flexible while offering many physical benefits like leading to a greater range of motion, improved balance, and increased stamina.  People who are more flexible are less likely to injure themselves, or break their bones.  The older a person gets, the harder it becomes to mend from an injury.

The gunslinger said meet me outside at high noon by the OK corral.  The O.K. Corral (Old Kindersley) was a livery and horse corral from 1879 to about 1888 in the mining boomtown of Tombstone, AZ Territory, and this historic site is where the gunfight between Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Virgil and Morgan Earp, and the Clantons took place.  I remember when this kid called me out in the Eighth grade and said, “Let’s settle this in the Boys Room at noon on our lunch break, so the nuns don’t break up the fight”, as we went to Catholic school and I suggested that we meet after midnight with pistols at ten paces and he thought that I was crazy.

Written for the MM Saturday Mix – Opposing Forces where the prompt is – mend and break and – noon and midnight.
