On live TV on November 18, 1973, Richard Nixon stated, “People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook”. A crook is defined as someone who is dishonest, or is a criminal, or a cheat. President Nixon did criminal acts and he denied categorically any involvement in the Watergate break-in and coverup. Nixon went on to say, “In all my life in public office, I have never profited, I have never obstructed justice… I welcome this kind of examination because the American people have a right to know if their President is a crook. Well, I’m not a crook. I earned everything I’ve got.” He was quite possibly the most corrupt President that we ever had in the U.S, excluding our present administration. Although he may have cheated on his taxes, at least he did release it.
