Just Another Pleasant Valley Sunday

The town of Pleasantville may have been created from the Monkees song, as it is a break from the societal norm.  All of America wants to see the Mueller report and I can’t give you that, however I can give you the SLS report.  Last week we had 25 songs contributed, which was a great week for Song Lyric Sunday!  LydiaA1614 Being Lydia! Lydia, crushedcaramel Melody Finch and newepicauthor A Unique Title For Me Jim Adams all wrote about the song Wonderful World.  Jingle Jangle Jungle Mary B and teleportingweena ghostmmnc Barbara both did School of Rock Zach’s Song by Jack Black.  Tao Talk Li gave us More Than This by Roxy Music.  Kalt In Thought contributed Kagamine Rin by Shoddy Utopia Policy.  Nesie’s Place Felicia Denise added I’ve Learned to Respect the Power of Love by Stephanie Mills.  Author Felicia Denise Felicia Denise blasted out Rocket Man by Elton John.  pensitivity101 Di did My Colouring Book by Dusty Springfield.  All About Life Lisa gave us Nature Boy by David Bowie.  Light Motifs II Paula Light gave us My Old School by Steely Dan.  This, That, And The Other Fandango added School Pride by the Beach Boys.  J-Dubs Grin and Bear It Jill wrote about Book of Love by the Monotones.  Poetry For Healing Christine Bolton did Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard by Paul Simon.  the only deadhead in the hameau added Ballad Of A Thin Man by Bob Dylan.  The Sound of One Hand Typing John Holton gave us a video on New Math.  chosenperspectives Kathie did Teach Your Children by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.  badfinger20 PowerPop… An Eclectic Collection of Pop Culture Max wrote about School’s Out by Alice Cooper.  My Corner Abby Johnson Taylor gave us Smoking in the Boys Room by Brownsville Station.  one letter UP contributed Life Holds On by Beth Nielsen Chapman. John Denver said, “Music does bring people together.  It allows us to experience the same emotions.  People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit.  No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves we are the same.”  This week the prompt is Minutes/Hours/Days/Weeks/Months, which was suggested by Felicia Denise.  This prompt may seem familiar, as Helen Vahdati had a similar one back on June 17, 2018 being Seconds/minutes/hours.  I ask again for you to be patient, and wait for me to approve your pingbacks, or place your link in the comments.

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not.
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
  • Ping back to this post will eventually work, as long as you are being patient, but you can also place your link in the comments if you don’t like to wait.
  • Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
  • Feel free to suggest future prompts.
  • Have fun and enjoy the music.

I am writing about the song ‘Attics Of My Life’ by the Grateful Dead this week.  Next week I will write about the song ‘Row Jimmy’ which is also by the Grateful Dead.  The upcoming prompts will be:
March 31, 2019 – Record/Juke Box/DJ/Radio
April 7, 2019 – Burn/Fire/Flame
April 14, 2019 – Freeze/Cold/Ice
April 21, 2019 – Seasons/Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall

    1. Mary, I tried to leave a comment twice at your page and both disappeared. I love your choice. Chris’ quote about Prince and how he sings this song left me in tears. Written by one angel and sung by another ❤ ❤

    1. Helen created a community with Song Lyric Sunday and since I have been the host, I look at it more like a family and you will always be missed, but there is never a reason for you to apologize.

  1. Jim, I pinged my song for this week onto this post so please don’t accept it. I have taken the link out of the post and will ping it when you put the new one up in several hours. This jukebox one is really wanting to be published! It is only 1 pm here on Saturday. LOL
