RIP Common Sense

Common sense is sound practical judgment concerning everyday matters, or a basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge that is shared by nearly all people. Common sense is what you think that other people with the exception of babies and the mentally disabled should automatically know.  Someone with good common sense would come in out of the rain, and not run with scissors and they would not go around touching something that they know will burn them, try to breathe underwater, stare into the Sun till they become blind, think that they can touch a rainbow, believe that any politician actually cares about them, tell someone carrying a machete or a bazooka to fuck off, drive on the wrong side of the freeway, or go around poking a bear for the fun of it.  Common sense should tell the government to take money away from the people who actually have money to give, instead of taxing the shit out of people who do not have any.  Common sense is not fake news, it is a reality check on ignorance and it should tell a person not to wear socks on the beach and particularly not to wear a shoe on one foot and a sandal on the other.

Since early May, 2,342 children have been separated from their parents after crossing the Southern U.S. border, according to the Department of Homeland Security, as part of a new immigration strategy by the Trump administration.  In some cases, the children were taken away under the pretense that they would be getting a bath.  The children are held in chain link cages and common sense would tell anyone that this is not a summer camp, just the same way that everyone should realize that there is such a thing as global warming, just by looking at how fast the polar ice cap is melting.  This lack of horse sense and sound thinking is almost enough to make you gasp especially seeing this growing list of conservatives who favor violently removing immigrant kids from their families and putting them in cages.  One of Fox News’ most visible white supremacists, Laura Ingraham called this abusive child separation policy essentially just a summer camp.  Where is the love, this wrangle is causing nothing but hatred, as the children wait in anticipation of getting out of this predicament.  I am wondering since there is such a thing as horse sense, would that also apply to the sea horse?
