Little George always bonded with his father on sports related things, but since his dad passed away George has become more of a mama’s boy. George’s grandma Betty won two tickets to a football game at a church raffle, so she called her daughter-in-law Debbie to bring George over to see which one of his three uncles he wanted to take him to the football game. Debbie brought her son George over to grandma’s house and she told him to pick either Uncle Bob, or Uncle John, or Uncle Jim to take him to the football game. George said, “I like all of my uncles, how can I choose between them?” His mother told him to choose the one that he thought he would have the most fun with.
The three uncles were seated in the living room and they all greeted Gorge when he came in. All three uncles wanted to take George to the game and this became a contest of sibling rivalry for them to see who George would pick. Uncle Bob spoke first and he told George to pick him since they have known each other for ages, like for eternity or forever and a day. George said that he did not think that it had been all that long, but there was that night where they both stayed up till the cows came home.
Uncle John spoke next and he told George to pick him because they have known each other since he was knee high to a grasshopper. George said that does sound like a long time ago, but he did not think that he was ever that small. George said the average grasshopper only grows to about two inches in length and to be the size of a grasshopper’s knee would be only about the size of a mosquito and he knew that he had never been that small.
Uncle Jim told George that he had known him the longest, as he knew George ever since he was just a mere sparkle in his dad’s eye. Jim told George that he was with his dad the night that he met his mom and he knew right away that they were meant to be together. He told George that his dad was a very romantic guy and that in just a few minutes he was able to charm his mother off of her feet. Jim said that as the romance ensued, he knew that the birth of a wonderful nephew would take place over the course of time. George said that he wanted Uncle Jim to take him to the football game.
