News Snippet

I was watching the news this morning and they had a blurb or snippet on about words used on dating sights that attract the most people.  The three words that they listed were avocado, potato and chocolate.  I love potatoes and I am very fond of chocolate, however I could easily go the rest of my life without eating any more avocadoes.  I have eaten avocado before, usually with some fajitas and I found it not to be bad or good, as it seems like a neutral food to me.

Avocado has a high fatty acid content, but they contain extremely low levels of cholesterol.  Avocados are also known as Alligator Pears, which is mainly due to its shape and the leathery appearance of its skin.  It is usually eaten raw, as a dessert whip, or in the form of salads with little pepper and salt.  The most popular use of avocados is in the form of guacamole, a traditional Mexican and Central American dip that is also good as a topping on hamburgers and sandwiches.  The one food that I really despise more than anything else is onions (nasty putrid disgusting suckers).  The main reason that I want to go to Heaven is that I was told that there are no onions up there.

  1. I love avocados on sandwiches and in chunky guacamole with finely chopped onions. The only way I eat onions is if they are finely chopped or cooked into caramelization. My husband LOVES onions in all shapes and sizes. Needless to say, it’s an area of compromise. When we go out to dinner, I give him all my onions that do not meet my standards.
